Atlanta Gas Light Company Names Manager For Newnan AreaMarch 24, 2004
ATLANTA - March 24, 2004 - Atlanta Gas Light Company (AGLC), a subsidiary of AGL Resources (NYSE: ATG), named Eric Collins as region manager overseeing service to 62,000 customers served in Newnan, Peachtree City, Griffin and Thomaston.
Collins, who joined AGLC in 2000, will oversee the AGLC service centers in Newnan and Griffin, which have a total of 40 employees. He is responsible for the centers' daily operations, which include pipeline maintenance, customer service, emergency response and repairs as well as meter installation and reading.
Before his promotion, Collins, an engineer, was an Operations Supervisor at the Augusta Service Center, where he managed field crews, field service representatives and meter readers.
Prior to joining AGLC, Collins was employed for 10 years by Louisville Gas & Electric Company in Kentucky, where he managed replacement programs for natural gas and electric distribution systems. His career includes employment at Dayton Power & Light Company (Ohio), Corning Glass Works and General Electric.
Collins received a bachelors of science and a masters of science in mechanical engineering from the University of Louisville. He is currently completing studies to obtain a masters of business administration degree from Augusta State University. Collins' community activities include the Medical College of Georgia Corporate Partners, Augusta Technical College HVAC Advisory Council, United Way, American Red Cross and Junior Achievement Project Business.
Collins and his wife, LaDonna, have five daughters aged 9 to 19. The family will relocate to Newnan in May, after the end of the school year.
