Atlanta Gas Light names Wendell Dallas Vice President and General Manager

September 27, 2006

ATLANTA--Sept. 27, 2006--Atlanta Gas Light, a subsidiary of AGL Resources Inc. (NYSE: ATG), announced today that Wendell Dallas, Jr., has been promoted to vice president and general manager. Dallas has served as general manager of Atlanta Gas Light since April 2005.

In his new role, Dallas will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Georgia utility that delivers natural gas to 1.5 million customers across the state.

"Wendell has clearly distinguished himself as a leader over the past two years in his role as general manager," said Suzanne Sitherwood, senior vice president, Southern Operations and president of Atlanta Gas Light. "He has played a critical role in developing and maintaining a solid communications and team-building effort across our Southern Operations."

Dallas has more than 15 years of operations, management and engineering experience in the natural gas industry. Dallas joined Atlanta Gas Light in 2000 and served as a service area manager in Macon and as a region manager for Southeast Georgia in Savannah. He came to Atlanta Gas Light from El Paso Energy's Macon office, where he was an operations supervisor. In that role he was responsible for the operations of the natural gas transmission pipeline facilities in central Georgia. Previous to that Dallas was a senior project engineer.

Dallas is currently a member of the 2006 Class of Leadership Georgia and is a 2004 graduate of Leadership Savannah. He is also a member of Auburn University's Engineering Alumni Council. Earlier this year, he was appointed by Gov. Sonny Perdue to serve on Georgia's Workforce Investment Board.

Dallas, 38, grew up in Opelika, Ala. and earned a degree in mechanical engineering from Auburn University. He lives in Snellville, Ga., with his wife and three children.
