Atlanta Gas Light is “going green” with the Clean Vehicle Education Foundation

June 25, 2008

ATLANTA – June 25, 2008 Atlanta Gas Light announced today a $30,000 grant to the Clean Vehicle Education Foundation, to be funded by The AGL Resources Private Foundation. The donation ties into The AGL Resources Foundation’s focus area of environmental stewardship.

“Through our Foundation, we strive to maintain a keen sensitivity to issues affecting our communities and our business,” says Suzanne Sitherwood, president, Atlanta Gas Light. “We are pleased to support The Clean Vehicle Education Foundation in its efforts to preserve and enhance the quality of life of our communities.”

The Clean Vehicle Foundation is a non-profit national organization whose mission is to assess and guide alternative fuels including NGV and natural gas-to-hydrogen R&D³ activities and build awareness for - and foster deployment of - alternative fuel systems including natural gas- and other clean fuel-powered vehicles in the public and private sector.

The CVEF coordinates and implements a variety of public awareness, education, market research, codes and standards and technology programs at the national level. These activities help achieve national goals of cleaner air, reduced dependence on imported oil and accelerated development and deployment of alternative fuel vehicles (AFVs).

“As gas prices continue to climb, interest in natural gas vehicles has risen as well.” said Sitherwood. “Investing in our energy future through donations to The Clean Vehicle Foundation is what keeps us driving in the right direction.”

About CVEFCVEF is a lean organization whose small staff relies on the support and participation of representatives from industry, government, academia, customers and other regional/state NGV coalitions to achieve its goals and objectives. Our programs and priorities are set by the CVEF Board of Directors with input from the AFV industry stakeholders. For more information visit www.cleanvehicle.org.
